THE “LAZO ANGELOVSKI” PRIMARY SCHOOL WITH NEW WINDOWS, TOILETS, AND ASSEMBLY-TYPE WOODEN PLAYGROUND

“I am pleased that today we can officially put into use this wonderful children’s playground, donated by the U.S. non-governmental organization “Link Across”, and announce the start of reconstruction of this school”, stated the Mayor of the Municipality of Aerodrom, Ivica Konevski, at today’s press-conference (May 31, 2012), held in the schoolyard of the “Lazo Angelovski” primary school.
He added that these activities were further proof that the Municipality of Aerodrom worked devotedly and continuously on improving the living conditions for its citizens, especially the youngest population.
The official opening of the assembly-type wooden children’s playground was attended by representatives from the “Link Across” NGO, as well as by U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Macedonia, Paul Wohlers, who said that it was a good example of cooperation between the NGO sector and the local self-government and expressed confidence that the children from Novo Lisice would be happy to play in the schoolyard.
The assembly-type playground is made of wood and includes climbing rock, swings, seesaws and other urban equipment, donated by the Municipality of Aerodrom.
Parents, pupils and teachers, representatives of the Municipality of Aerodrom and of “Link Across” have joined the construction of the playground, as well as four volunteers from the United States of America, who have arrived to Macedonia specifically to join the construction of the playground.
Besides putting the playground into use, Mayor Konevski also announced the beginning of reconstruction of the “Lazo Angelovski” primary school.
The reconstruction will include replacement of existing windows with new windows, and reconstruction of toilets and part of the roof of the school.
For the reconstruction of this school, which will take place during the summer, the Municipality of Aerodrom has provided about MKD 10 million from its Budget.
