The Mayor of the Municipality of Aerodrom, Ivica Konevski, and the Mayor of Wandsworth, the biggest and most developed Central London municipality, Piers McCausland, yesterday, December 21, 2010, in London, Great Britain, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the segments of education, culture and civil community.

The Decision on signing a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Municipality of Aerodrom and the Municipality of Wandsworth was adopted by the Council of the Municipality of Aerodrom at the 41^st Council session held on November 5, 2010.

The signing of this Memorandum is considered a very significant historical event for the Municipality of Aerodrom, because it is the first official document with which the Municipality of Aerodrom establishes cooperation with a municipality from Great Britain, but above all because the document was signed under the constitutional name of the Republic of Macedonia. The memorandum is also significant for the Municipality of Wandsworth, because it is the first official international document that they have signed.

According to the Memorandum contents, the two municipalities are obliged to promote friendship, educational, and cultural relations.

"I would like to thank You for Your efforts and activities for bringing the Macedonian and the British people closer, because only through cooperation can we promote friendship, educational, and cultural relations in the future", stated Mayor Konevski at the signature ceremony, where Macedonian Ambassador to Great Britain, Marija Efremova, was also present.

The primary school Falcobrook - London is also a signatory of the Memorandum, which means that exchange of pupils and teachers will contribute to acquiring and sharing new experiences in the future, and initiating cooperation among the youth.

At the end of the signature event, Mayor Konevski invited the Mayor of Wandsworth to visit the Municipality of Aerodrom on April 12, 2011, when it will celebrate its sixth anniversary.
