A group of pupils from the Ljuben Lape primary school visited Mayor Ivica Konevski today, April 30, 2009, handing him a green letter in which they ask for help in the solving of an ecological problem.

The pupils asked of the Municipality of Aerodrom to help them by donating several benches and waste bins for their schoolyard.

Mayor Konevski stated that he would meet their demand, while they promised him that they would gladly take part in the ecological action to be carried out soon by the Municipality of Aerodrom, just like they had participated in all previous actions.

The pupils from the first to the eighth grade from the Lazo Angelovski primary school took part in the Music Dances dance contest, traditionally organized at this school for several years in a row.

At the music event, many dance groups participated, dancing exclusively to Macedonian music.

The dance contest is organized in order to physically activate the youth, to enhance their interest in dancing, but primarily to improve the patriotic awareness among the pupils and their love towards the Macedonian music.

Nowadays, the Street No.3 in the settlement known as Tabak City was asphalted, all the way along the Treta Makedonska Brigada Blvd. near the railway tracks.

The building activities for asphalting of the 460-meter street was conducted by the Granit company.

The asphalting of the Street No.3, which had been dug round for a long time, has improved the living conditions for the residents of this street, so they do not have to walk in mud and dust anymore.

At the third session of the Council of the Municipality of Aerodrom, held on April 30, 2009, the Council members brought a unanimous decision on granting onetime financial aid for the newborn babies in the Municipality.

The onetime financial aid is granted on the basis on submitted requests by the families to the Municipality of Aerodrom along with the proper documentation, which will confirm the birth of the new family member and their residence address on the territory of the Municipality of Aerodrom.

The documents that the citizens should submit after filling out the request are the following:

· Marriage certificate (of the newborn baby’s parents);

· Birth certificate (of the newborn baby);

· Photocopy from a valid ID card of both parents or another identification document which shows their residence address, which should be located on the territory of the Municipality of Aerodrom;

· Photocopy from a savings account and

· Transaction account.

The Municipality of Aerodrom will pay the funds after the family submits the entire necessary documentation.

Other significant decisions were also brought at the session, such as the Decision on formation of a Commission for preparation of the 2009 operation program of the Council of the Municipality of Aerodrom, establishing of a newspaper of the Municipality of Aerodrom, information on taking activities for amendments and additions to the Decision on adoption of the detailed urban plan for the locality of Industriska zona UU V.

Today, May 5, 2009, at the ceremony organized in the yard of the municipality premises, the Mayor of the Municipality of Aerodrom, Ivica Konevski, handed over certificates for granting onetime financial aid to about sixty families with newborn babies.

“Today, we will grant over 60 such certificates, which I would like to become a symbol of my determination to work in the interest of all residents of the Municipality of Aerodrom without exceptions, from the youngest to the oldest ones. I wish many more joyful moments to come and I sincerely wish to the new residents of the municipality long and successful life full of careless childhood, health and happiness”, Mayor Konevski stated at the certificate granting ceremony, adding that he was especially glad that the Council of the Municipality of Aerodrom at the session last week had unanimously supported the initiative for encouraging the positive population birth rate, cutting down the parents’ costs for these happy moments of their life.

The President of the Council of the Municipality of Aerodrom, Dr. Viktor Kamilovski also gave his sincere greetings to the newborn babies and their families. He stated that by granting modest financial aid they would encourage the young married couples from the municipality to create future generations, who would be the hope of our young society.

The Municipality of Aerodrom will continue implementing this action, so in 2009 each family with a newborn baby will receive onetime financial aid of 5,000 MKD.

Since the beginning of 2009, the Municipality of Aerodrom has had 162 new residents, of whom 83 are boys, while 79 are girls.

Tomorrow, May 8, 2009 (Friday), at the invitation by Ambassador Ervan Fouere, the Mayor of the Municipality of Aerodrom Ivica Konevski will visit the tenants of the Jane Sandanski pensioners’ home.

The meeting with the pensioners will take place at 3 p.m., on the occasion of May 9 – the Europe Day.

At the meeting, Ambassador Fouere will acquaint the pensioners’ home tenants with the role and mission of the European Union, and afterwards they will have the opportunity to ask some questions and get answers directly from the Ambassador.

Besides the tenants from the Jane Sandanski pensioners’ home, the meeting will also be attended by representatives from many pensioners’ associations of the City of Skopje.

the construction of a new basketball field has started nowadays in the settlement of Novo Lisice, in the Municipality of Aerodrom.

At the moment, a buffer layer is being installed on the sports field constructed behind the buildings No. 43 and 37 on Vidoe Smilevski Bato Blvd, and later curbs will be installed and it will be asphalted as well.

The basketball field with asphalt underlayment will be 19 meters wide, and 33 meters long. The baskets will be made in standard dimensions, in set with a board, ring, and net, they will be painted in the colors of the Municipality, that is, red and yellow, and they will be set 3.05 meters high. Behind the baskets, it is planned to install protective net and lights, and pedestrian footpaths will be constructed, too.

The children in the Municipality of Aerodrom will soon be able to play and have fun on renewed and repaired accessories in the children’s playgrounds.

Upon a warrant by the expert services of the Municipality of Aerodrom, there are ongoing repairs and replacement of the accessories of the existent children’s playgrounds in the settlements of Novo Lisice behind the buildings No. 52 and 62 on ASNOM Blvd, in the settlement of Jane Sandanski among the high buildings No. 61, 63 and 65, and in the park near building No. 72 on Jane Sandanski Blvd, and there are also ongoing repairs of the children’s playgrounds in the settlement of Ostrovo near Tinex market and on Vladimir Komarov Street between the buildings No. 19, 21 and 23.

The damaged accessories in the children's playgrounds are being replaced with new ones, then they are being painted, and the sand in them is also being replaced or cleaned.

Also, the Municipality of Aerodrom appeals to the adults not to use and ruin the children’s playgrounds, because they are the only places for entertainment and recreation for the children from the Municipality.

The Municipality of Aerodrom built two new pedestrian footpaths nowadays in the greenery near the fish restaurant on Vladimir Komarov Street in the settlement of Ostrovo, near Tinex market, and near the so-called Formula kiosk on this street.

The pedestrian footpaths are made of paving bricks in the colors of the municipality, that is, red and yellow.

The funds for construction of the footpaths have been provided from the budget of the Municipality of Aerodrom, and the contractors are the companies of IGM Vratnica and Cingar Inzenering.

In the forthcoming period, pedestrian footpaths will also be built in the settlements of Star Aerodrom and Jane Sandanski – left side (near the military buildings).

As of today, May 12, 2009, the construction of a new parking lot has started along the Venijamin Macukovski Street in the settlement of Micurin. The access road is 5.6 meters long, while the parking lot is 5 meters wide on each side.

The civil works are contracted by the Urban Invest company.

In the meantime, there are ongoing construction activities on a 65-meter-long section of the fecal sewage on Anastas Mitrev Street leading towards Petar Acev Street. The civil works are contracted by the Badzak Inzenering comany.

After the construction is complete, on this section of the fecal sewage, diggings will be conducted for installation of pipes, that is, for installation of street lighting by the distributive network.

Civil works for installation of street lighting will also be conducted on Venijamin Macukovski Street section 1, and on Anastas Mitrev Street.

After the meeting held recently between the Mayor of the Municipality of Aerodrom, Ivica Konevski, and the Director General of the PE Water Supply and Sewage, Igor Arnaudov, where it was arranged that the public enterprise should make investments in the construction of the water supply network in Gorno Lisice, nowadays the reconstruction of the 3-kilometer water supply network has official started.

The reconstruction includes the Todor Cangov Street No. 23, 27, 29, 33, 35, 37, 39, 40, 48 and 50, as well as the Novoproektirana Street.

The existent water supply network which at the moment does not meet the current needs of the population for sanitary water consists of zinc-coated pipes with a diameter of 51 millimeters.

The reconstruction of the water supply network to be conducted by the PE Water Supply and Sewage means installation of water pipes with a diameter of 100 millimeters.

As of today, May 13, 2009, the asphalting activities on Petar Acev Street in Micurin have started.

This street, which had previously got fecal and stormwater sewage, will be asphalted, the length of the road being 380 meters, and its width - 6 meters.

The civil works are contracted by the Granit civil engineering company.

Parallel with the asphalting of this street, the construction of a new parking lot along Venijamin Macukovski street continues, where the access road is 5.6 meters long, while the parking lot is 5 meters wide on both sides.

As of tomorrow, May 15, 2009 (Friday), at 9 a.m., Todor Cangov Street will be closed for traffic due to ongoing civil works.

At the moment, there are ongoing cross digging works for installation of water pipes on this street by the PE Water Supply and Sewage.

After the completion of the pipe installation, the preparatory activities for asphalting of Todor Cangov Street will begin.

With the asphalting of Todor Cangov Street, the citizens’ lingering problem with the dug-up street will be resolved.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Aerodrom Аеродром Ivica Konevski and the Mayor of the City of Skopje Koce Trajanovski, today, May 14, 2009 launched the new start and stop bus terminus for the bus lines No. 5 and 15 in the settlement of Novo Lisice.

“This is a project we had promised in the campaign for the local elections. With the dislocation of the last stop of the bus lines No. 5 and 15 and with the opening of this terminus we will enable free access for traffic on the street and thus we will meet the demands of the citizens living nearby, but primarily of pupils, so that the exhaust gases from the buses will not longer be an obstacle for the schools”, stated Mayor Konevski.

The space near the new terminus had previously been a big wild depot created by reckless citizens, so with the dislocation of the two bus lines this communal problem is now solved.

In the past few days, the location for the new bus stop was being cleaned by the seasonal workers of the Municipality of Aerodrom together with teams from the public enterprises of the City of Skopje.

With the launch of the new terminus for the bus lines No. 5 and 15, the traffic regime will not be changed, but only the route of the lines will be about 400 meters longer.

The dislocation of the bus terminus is a part of the pre-election program, while the location has been defined according to the requests by the residents from this settlement.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Aerodrom Ivica Konevski and the Macedonian Ambassador to the United States of America Zoran Jolevski had a working meeting in the Mayor’s Cabinet today, May 14, 2009.

During the meeting, they discussed potential cooperation between these two institutions, and the possibilities for entry of American investments into the Municipality of Aerodrom.

Mayor Konevski presented to the Macedonian ambassador to the USA the conditions and capacities of the Municipality of Aerodrom, as well as the operation of the municipality in the spheres of civil engineering, urban planning, and communal affairs.

With most versatile playing activities provided in the program for preschool education, the children from the Srnicka kindergarten yesterday, May 13, 2009, took part in a sports competition in the yard of their kindergarten.

Under the motto of “Playing is our job”, the children, divided into several groups, competed in the following disciplines: relay race with a small Macedonian flag, slippery balloon, balloon shot, sliding, dancing and many other sports, and they were from time to time joined by the students from the Faculty of Physical Education in Skopje.

The goal of the event was to convey a message to the parents that the children are learning by playing games, in which adults should sometimes participate, too, in order to develop the children’s awareness of physical culture from their early age, but also to encourage the children to get to like sports.

The event was attended by many children from the other kindergartens in the Municipality, kindergartens in the neighboring municipalities, parents, educators and many passers-by.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Aerodrom Ivica Konevski and the Ambassador of the Russian Federation of the Republic of Macedonia Vladimir Solocinski, on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 11 a.m. at a ceremony will launch the new fueling station of the Russian Lukoil oil company, located on Srbija Boulevard in the settlement of Jane Sandanski.

Apart from the launching ceremony, the new Lukoil fueling station will be dedicated by the Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia His Beatitude Stefan, and afterwards the Russian Ambassador and Mayor Konevski will have their addresses to the guests.

At the request of the pupils from the primary schools of Lazo Angelovski and Ljuben Lape, the Municipality of Aerodrom has installed new benches in the yards of these two schools.

The expert services from the municipality, having conducted inspection and control into the locations, installed in each of the two schools 6 new benches for the pupils’ needs.

The benches were installed by the Kod Inzenering company.

The Municipality of Aerodrom appeals to the pupils and citizens not to ruin and stain the benches, because that would cause damages to the municipality and the residents using the benches.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Aerodrom Ivica Konevski and the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Macedonia, Vladimir Solocinskij, today, May 18, 2009, has ceremonially put into operation the new fueling station of the Russian Lukoil oil company, located on Srbija Boulevard in the settlement of Jane Sandanski.

“With the entry of the Lukoil oil company, there will be a possibility for opening of many new jobs, whereby we will insist that priority is given to the residents of the Municipality of Aerodrom. This oil company is implementing ecology standards in its operation and contributing to a healthy environment by investing in the production of ecological fuels meeting the European Union standards”, stated Mayor Konevski, adding that besides the big influence by the world economic crisis, there are still many significant investments entering the Municipality of Aerodrom.

At the launching ceremony of the new fueling station, the Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia His Beatitude Stefan was also present, as well as the general director of Lukoil Macedonia Andrej Kuku, and the director of the Bureau for Public Safety, Ljupco Todorovski.

The Mayor of the Municipality of Aerodrom, Ivica Konevski, today, May 19, 2009, held a press conference on the occasion of the start of the asphalting activities on Todor Cangov Street in Gorno Lisice.

“The Municipality of Aerodrom started asphalting Todor Cangov Street in order to make easier the everyday life of the citizens living near the street, but above all to put an end to the long-term suffering of the residents of this part of the municipality, who used to have no other option but walk through mud or dust, depending on the weather. Thus, the residents will finally get normal living conditions, as becomes an urban environment like the Municipality of Aerodrom”, Mayor Konevski stated. He also added that by asphalting the street, the two settlements of Lisice and Gorno Lisice will get connected.

At the press conference, the Minister of Transport and Communications Mile Janakieski was also present, who stated that the asphalting of Todor Cangov Street was a part of the activities provided in the pre-election program for the local elections.

“When we visited this place together with Mayor Konevski, we promised that the asphalting of Todor Cangov Street would begin in two months. Today, this promise is being fulfilled and I would like to send a message to all other mayors to follow the example of Ivica Konevski”, stated Minister Janakieski.

The asphalting of Todor Cangov Street will cover length of 500 meters and width of 7 meters with half-a-meter-high road shoulders. After the asphalting of the street, the bus line No. 17А of the Public Transport Enterprise Skopje will pass along this street, too.

Before the beginning of the asphalting of Todor Cangov Street, a new fecal sewage was contracted along with connections to the secondary fecal network and a brand new stormwater sewage.

The Municipality of Aerodrom has provided about 16 million MKD from its Budget for asphalting and contracting the complete sewage.

Nowadays, the reconstruction of the pavement in between the buildings behind the Tri Biseri shopping mall started in the settlement of 13 Noemvri.

There is an ongoing replacement of the old, deteriorated, broken or shabby pavers on the defined location.

The construction of the stormwater sewage on Gjorgji Kapcev Street in Gorno Lisice has started recently.

This street had previously got fecal sewage, and the stormwater sewage on this street will be about 300 meters long, whereby reinforced concrete sewage pipes with a diameter of ø600 will be installed. The civil works are being contracted by the Badzak Inzenering company, and the funds have been provided from the Budget of the Municipality of Aerodrom.

It is expected that the construction of the stormwater sewage will finish in about two weeks, after which the preparatory activities on Gjorgji Kapcev Street will begin.
